Who

In the Spring of 2013 a group of bloggers got together to chase fish in Florida. These are the people involved in that project.

Eric Estrada – Eric is an artist who lives in Miami. We connected with Eric through Vince at Skinny Water Culture and it was something that changed the dynamics of the trip in a fundamental way. Eric polled the flats, stayed with us, ate with us and partook in all the small hour of the morning BS sessions common to this sort of trip. He was solidly a huge contributor.

Bill Horn – Bill is an author, lawyer and now full-time Keys resident. He wrote a book called “Seasons on the Flats” about the changing seasons in the Keys. A must read.

Derek Rust (contact at rustayy at yahoo.com) – Derek Rust is a guide who works the waters of the Upper Keys, fishing out of Marathon and Duck Key. He’s knowledgeable about the water and a fun guy to share a skiff with.

Martin Carranza – Martin lives in Miami, but is native to Argentina and splits time between the two places. He took two of us out on Biscayne Bay to show us his home water.

Skinny Water Culture – Skinny Water Culture hooked us up and in many ways helped make this trip possible. They have a group of anglers and guides who support their brand because it represents who they are and how they fish. Huge props to Vince, Eric and Derek for all their help.

Thomas & Thomas – Thomas & Thomas were integral to getting this trip off the ground. We were outfitted with loaner TNT and prototype tarpon rods for the trip and had the hospitality of the T&T owner to make the trip as easy for us all as possible. Many thanks for the hospitality.

Sage – Sage sent a Sage Boat Bag for the trip, which was used and adored.

Fishpond – Fishpond also sent a Boat Bag for the trip and we found that bag as solid as every bit of Fishpond gear we’ve had over the years. Great product.
